This sketch was probably done early the transition from the Commissioners of Currency of Ceylon to the Central Bank of Ceylon, before that name was even finalised.

Front: Portrait of King George the VIth on right and space for watermark on left. On top panel center RESERVE BANK OF CEYLON. below which Serial Number with prefix on upper left and lower right. The legality statement a scribble in two lines. Below centered in middle in large font TEN RUPEES in one line. below drawing of stone piller leaning to right with Ruwanwelisaya in background. Two dummy facsimile signatures at bottom. Value in Local languages a scribble clearer in lower left in Thamil. Numeric Value 10 in top two corners. All within a rectangular decorated border and background,
Back: On top centered in banner RESERVE BANK OF CEYLON. Step leading down to Moonstone on left and Space for watermark on right. 10 RUPEES in two lines top left corner, 10 in bottom right corner. Local language a scribble.

The front may have led to the layout of the 1951 notes. The back was used in the Rs50 which was first issued in with 1952 notes.

I thank the buyer of Auction 9025 lot 432 in a Private Collection for the image of back which was not shown in listing.
The notes at xx and xx dpi and displayed at about 50 dpi if assuming height of 1952 notes of these denominations.
