A Banknote design Essay series from Bradbury Wilkinson with the date 1960-8-18

A series of notes designed for the adoption of the SWRD Image after he was assassinated om 1959 September 26 and the victory in the Parliamentary elections held on 1960 July 20th of the SLFP led by his wife Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike who became the world's First female elected Prime Minister.

The First denomination issued with SWRD was the Rs 50 and was dated 1961-11-2 and the Rs 2 and Rs 5 from 1962-11-8, Rs 100 on 1963-6-5 and Rs 10 from 1964-6-12. Essay of Rs 1 shown below with date 1962-11-8 was never issued as the Rs 1 was replaced with a coin dated 1963 and last dated note still had the Ceylon Armorial Ensign.

Note that Rs 1 has a later date 1962-11-8, has signature of the next Governor of CBC and date 1963-3-28 scribbled on essay card.
The Gray-scale photographic essay is presented as Sepia tone, as it did not print well when colorized, Blue as in the Rs 1 note of era.

The notes at xx,xx,xx,xx and xx dpi are displayed at about 50 dpi if assuming height of 1960 notes.
