Front : Red Text printed on a geometric mosaic of Green & Purple. In Purple silhouette of mountain Range centered with SiriPada within region made up of a large central circle with two smaller circles centered at 3 an 9 O'clock on rim. and 1938 in Purple just above and below.
Just insider border on top left The Rubber Controller of Ceylon below which Centered authorizes the Bearer to / Export subject to Customs / Duties and Tax from Ceylon in 3 lines.
Centered in middle (WEIGHT) POUND(S) / of / DRY RUBBER . Large Numeric (WEIGHT) / Pound(s) on either side.
Below රාත්තල් (weight) in Sinhala and (weight) இறாத்தல் in Thamil.
At bottom right COLOMBO above date 1st January 1938. At bottom right facsimile signature of P. Saravanamuttu above designation Rubber Controller.
Lower left margin in small print name of printer GOVT. PRESS. CEYLON.
Lower right margin in small print name of draftsmen SURVEY DEPT. CEYLON.
Six Digit Serial number with prefix on lower left and upper right.

WaterMark : On all denominations the words RUBBER RESTRICTION in two lines in middle with words CEYLON above and GOVERNMENT below in two arcs forming an ellipse, using an outline Font lighter than background. The logo is 4 inches wide and 2 inches high and oriented to the top in lower denominations (1,5,10 lbs) and to right in higher denominations (50,100,1000 lbs). The logo is repeated every 4 inches giving a 2 inch gap, and is seen twice on these larger notes. But as the logos are not centered on coupon, parts of it may have got clipped out by edge of the coupon.

Perforations are seen on the left edge of 1 lbs coupon indicating these coupons were issued in booklets.
