Large Numeric (WEIGHT) / Pounds on either side of two plane lines inclined up at 11° between which the Text FIRST Advance Issue, 1942 in English, 1942 ප්‍රථම වාරයේදි නිකුත්කරනලදි in Sinhala and 1942 ம் ௵ முதற் தடவைக் கூப்பன் in Thamil in 3 lines. Below රාත්තල් (weight) in Sinhala and (weight) இறாத்தல் in Thamil.
At bottom left COLOMBO above date 1st January 1942. At bottom right facsimile signature of P. Saravanamuttu above designation Rubber Controller.

WaterMark : On all denominations the word RESTRICTION in a line in middle with words CEYLON above and GOVERNMENT below in two arcs forming an ellipse, using an outline Font lighter than background. The logo is 4 inches wide and 2 inches high and oriented to the top in lower denominations (1,5,10 lbs) and to right in higher denominations (50,100,1000 lbs). The logo is repeated every 4 inches giving a 2 inch gap, and is seen twice on these larger notes. But as the logos are not centered on coupon, parts of it may have got clipped out by edge of the coupon.

Perforations are seen on the left edge of all the lower denominations (1, 5, 10 lbs) and on the top edge on the higher denominations (50, 100 lbs) indicating the coupons were issued in booklets for all these denominations.
