The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issued in for circulation, a 1000 Rupee Currency Note in a series of Notes was called Sri Lanka Historical and Development.

Security Thin polyester thread of 1 mm width embedded in note. Micro-printing background pattern.
UV Printing: Front: Signature, Date and Serial Numbers, in Green. On right outlines of large Flag Lion with Sword in raised right paw with large numeric 1000 highlighting design at center. UV-printing in front of Notes issued with date 1987-01-01 is in Orange, while the later dates 1989-02-21 and 1990-04-05 is in Green.

Have image of 1989 Rs1000 replacement Note the low serial number 366. The expected 0.2% of 1987 replacement notes is 20,000 for 10M issue. The higher denomination replacements of these older issues are more common than the lower. So probably the 1987 Rs 1000 did not use replacements like the Rs500.

The Central Bank of Ceylon Rs 500, Rs 1000 first issued in 1981 did not the Picture captions included in other denominations issued from 1982. They have been included with redesign, changing UV images to new format as well.
The note was scanned at 300 dpi and displayed at 50 dpi.
